WHO WE SUPPORT

GIRLS WITH GREAT LINES ARE PROUD TO OFFER OUR SUPPORT TO EMERSON HOUSE AND THE HYANNIS A BABY CENTER.

Emerson House

The Emerson House

Emerson House was established in 1974 as one of the first programs in the country to provide treatment specifically designed for women. Emerson House is home to 37 woman and up to 8 babies at any given time. In addition to traditional counselling and support, it is the dynamic therapeutic program that makes Emerson house a special place for women suffering with addiction. Women learn how to be strong and independent individuals and mothers through a variety of services that include parenting skills development, nurturing assistance, pre-natal care, and a whole life therapy focus that helps them learn the life skills and coping methods to sustain recovery. These efforts are greatly assisted by community volunteers that provide babysitting so mothers can attend therapy sessions, facilitate knitting classes, art therapy sessions, and other activities. These volunteer experiences enable the formation of strong bonds with patients and give the women a sense of connection and reunification to the larger community.

A Baby Center

A Baby Center’s mission is to aid children in need who live on Cape Cod and the Islands by supplementing critical basic needs to ensure good health and safety. These services are provided without regard for religious preference, or lack thereof. Your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by the IRS. A Baby Center is one of the many ways that the Cape Cod Council of Churches helps support the people of Cape Cod and the Islands.

Camp Jabberwocky

Martha’s Vineyard

Camp Jabberwocky exists to provide a residential vacation camp for people with disabilities. We provide recreation and enrich the lives of our campers by creating a supportive environment that promotes the fulfillment of human potential and fosters independence and self-determination while respecting diversity.
